Envisioned to be a part of the largest obelisk ever created at the time of Ancient Egypt, Aswan’s Unfinished Obelisk is a popular tourism destination and a sign of the history’s ancient importance. The orders for construction were given by Pharaoh Hatshepsut, to add to the growing list of architectural wonders created on her orders. The architectural prowess and the advancement of Egyptian civilization can still be seen at the site today after thousands of years.
