A fascinating specimen of Roman architecture, the amphitheater in Alexandria is one of the biggest historical landmarks of the city from Antiquity till now. Built in the 4th Century, it was the city’s biggest congregation space and used to host various kinds of events, making it the heart and soul of the ancient city. Even after centuries of disuse and being in ruins, the history of the magnificent Roman rule in Alexandria can still be found at the site.
