One of the most popular destinations in Luxor, the Colossi of Memnon is a wonderful and a must-visit place for those who love Ancient Egyptian history. The Colossi are two enormous and ancient stone sculptures that depict Pharaoh Amenhotep III sitting and gazing out at the Nile River. They were built in 1350 BC at the entrance of Amenhotep’s mortuary temple to impose their might upon the visitors of the temple.
