Gaziantep Castle

A sign of Gaziantep’s importance and it's history, the castle imposes its dominance on the city's skyline with its indomitable walls and structure. The historic landmark was built and expanded during the 2nd century AD by the Romans and is Gaziantep’s most recognizable feature besides the city’s culinary prowess. The 3900-foot-wide castle contained 12 bastions to aid in its defense, and its formidable walls were made with stone to make it difficult for any army to attack it. Now, it stands as a site of historical and architectural wonder for both history enthusiasts and travel lovers.
