Ancient Amphitheater

Also known as the Theater at Halicarnassus, the Amphitheater of Bodrum is one of the top historical sites of the city. It was built in the 4th Century BCE, during the rule of Mausolus and was the most prominent gathering place for the citizens at the time and during Roman rule over the city. In its heyday, it could hold up to a massive 13,000 spectators, when spectacles were held at the theater to entertain spectators. A relic of the Ancient World, traveling to the Amphitheater offers one of the best historical experiences of the city’s significance from antiquity to till this day.

Opening Hours: 9 AM to 8 PM (Summer) , 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Winter), Closed on Mondays

Best Time to Visit: Late Afternoon
