Al ain Destinations

Situated on the eastern border with Oman, Al Ain is an interior oasis city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Because of its natural springs and palm trees, it is referred to as the Garden City. Tombs from the Bronze Age can be found in Al Hili Archaeological Park to the north and on the majestic Jebel Hafeet mountain to the south.

Al Ain Oasis

Al Ain’s most famous and prominent travel destination, Al Ain Oasis is one of the largest of its kind in the town, and houses more than 140,000 trees, offering a much-needed shade and retreat in the hot atmosphere of the surroundings. The oasis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and features thousands-of-year-old irrigation systems used in the area, the Falaj. The area is one of the best sites for an valuable insight into farming systems used in the area, with the palm trees’s effect creating a peaceful and shady effect on the visitor’s body.

Al Ain Zoo

A wonderful place for a family trip in Al Ain, the Al Ain Zoo is one of the city’s most fascinating destinations. The zoo houses a range of animals, normal and endangered, with large enclosures for animals providing an excellent habitat for animals to stay in being easy to interact with by humans. Another fun experience in the zoo are its safari rides, which are easily the most fun experience one could have in the zoo.

Al Jahili Fort

Al Jahili Fort is another prominent landmark of Al Ain, having been built in 1893. The restored fort hosts several cultural activities and exhibitions while being restored from time to time for tourism purposes. It was originally built to protect farmers in the wider region and is situated on the Al Jahili Oasis. Al Ain’s most historic landmark, it represents the region’s celebrated heritage and history.

National Museum(al Ain)

One of the oldest museums in the UAE, representing the region’s history, visiting the national museum in Al Ain is a once-in-a lifetime experience for visitors. The museum features the region’s archeological history, presenting the prehistoric finds in the area, and other cultural works. It was founded in 1971 by a UAE royal, with the museum celebrating and showing to the world the region’s history and its fascinating cultures.

Opening Hours: 8 AM to 7 PM, Friday (3 PM to 7:30 PM), Closed on Mondays
