City Of Memphis
Overview
The wonderful Ancient City of Memphis was the first recognized capital of Ancient Egypt under the direction of its founder, King Menes. The city served as the center for the government of all of Egypt, as a main center for commerce in the nearby area, and unique Egyptian arts under the ruler Ptah. It was founded in the 31st century BCE, and despite being in ruins, the site still contains various architectural gems such as Colossus of Ramses the 2nd, Temple of Ptah, and the Pyramid of Saqqara.
