A well-known landmark and the symbol of the city, Bursa Grand Mosque is an important travel and religious destination in the city. The Grand Mosque is itself an architectural gem dating back to 1399, built by Sultan Bayezid Yildrim after his victory at the famous Battle of Nicopolis. A major tourist highlight of the city, the mosque’s most prominent feature is its 20 domes on top of the structure, which gives it the unique and rare look that rivals all other mosques in Turkey.
